Super De Bruyne Wins City The Match In Gruelling Tie Against Newcastle

Manchester City beat Newcastle United 3-2 in thriller game with Kevin De Bruyne scoring and assisting in 20 minute cameo as a substitute.

He makes his long awaited return to the Premier League to inspire an insane comeback against a strongly willed Newcastle side. After going 2-1 down at half time City needed something special to win the game back and they got what they wanted in the return of Kevin De Bruyne to close the game out.

In a 21 minute appearance for the Belgian, he managed to get a goal and an assist with 3 important forward passes into the Newcastle defence which broke them down.

With his 6th touch of the game he slotted the ball into the bottom left of the net making it 2-2 inspiring the treble winners to win back the tide of the game and eventually win it out in a tough game for the travelling side.

Kevin De Bruyne then set up the final blow to win them the game with a beautiful ball over the top of the defence into substitute Oscar Bobb getting his first Premier League goal of his career with a great touch round the keeper and slotting it into the back of the net in the 91st minute of the game under intense pressure.

Despite the win, City took a massive hit this game with an early injury to goal keeper Ederson after the linesman put his flag up late and led to a collision with the metal studs going into his leg leaving a hole as seen in the tweet above.

There are no news on how serious this injury is and how long he will be out for but just from images alone it seems he will be out for a while from this side with yet another injury from late calls for offside similar to what happened against Everton with John Stones.

Their next game is against Tottenham in the FA Cup on the 26th of January.
